It seemed every staff member at Orthopedic Medical Group was simply indifferent to my need; at times they were downright rude.
Kathy, Dr. Gonzalez’s head nurse exuded the type of attitude towards me that a head cheerleader would have towards a science geek in high school.
She was short tempered, failed to return my calls, and didn’t want to answer questions I had about surgery.
The pain level I had immediately following surgery was so severe that I felt something was wrong (I have a very high pain tolerance).
Immediately after my surgery, it took three days of being in pain and leaving messages to get any response. After insisting I would hold until I spoke to someone, the response I got was Dr. Gonzalez was on vacation, and I could go to the urgent care if I felt it was necessary.
I was out of work for nearly two months. It took 5 weeks to get a single sheet standard disability form filled out and sent in to the state. Since I had health insurance to pay them, they obviously didn't care if I could make my other financial obligations.
Dr. Gonzalez and his staff couldn’t care less that I had waited an average of two hours for my previous three appointments, and when I was 30-35 minutes late due to unusually heavy traffic, they told me I would have to re-schedule. When I explained I had taken the day off work as my last vacation day, and that the appointment would only take a few minutes, they still turned me away. |
